Therapists listen to your story, point out patterns of behavior, help you to talk about and understand your feelings and to find the solutions to your difficulties that will work for you. In addition, we work towards establishing a productive relationship that is focused on you and your needs.
We provide counseling for children over 5 years old, teenagers and adults. Individual, couple and family therapy is provided as needed.
Among other issues, we work with:
- Adults who are unhappy in relationships, struggling with anxiety or depression, and addiction issues
- Teenagers who are getting bullied, feeling alone and unwanted, acting out, having attention challenges
- Children who show signs of anxiety, depression
That will depend on the nature of your difficulties. Also, your level of commitment to making changes in thoughts, attitudes and behaviors will impact your progress.
We do accept some insurance carriers directly for payment. At the time that you schedule your first appointment, you will be asked to fax or email your insurance information to the office for verification. You should also contact your insurance company to find out your benefit copay and if pre-authorization is required.
When you choose to pay for our services through your insurance provider, we are required to submit certain information about our work with you. This information can include labeling you with a mental illness diagnosis, an outline of the treatment plan with progress being made, goals and other material of that nature. Insurance companies can even demand to see notes taken about your sessions. The therapeutic process and relationship is a private one and some patients choose not to use their insurance for the sake of privacy.
